We know it’s super cliche, but don’t you wish there were more hours in a day? The list of things to do is pretty much endless for busy moms (or any mama for that matter!). Whether you’re meal prepping, working on a science project, planning a family trip, or submitting a month-end report to your boss, we know you’ve got a million and one things on your plate. In fact, many of the Quality Providers at BabyQuip as well as the Corporate team are busy moms too! So, we totally get it.
That’s why we’ve spent some time putting together a list of must-have technology and gadgets that will make your life easier and hopefully a tad more productive. And who knows? Maybe you’ll have some extra time in your day to play with your little ones or enjoy some “me time”. Fingers crossed!
Here are 9 technology and gadget lifesavers for busy moms:
1. Skip vacuuming and Roomba instead.
It’s 2020. Why vacuum (or mop) when you can Roomba! iRobot has created robot vacuum cleaners, mops, and even a lawn mower. Save time by turning the Roomba on at night while you’re sleeping or even during the day while everyone is at school and work. You’ll wake up or come home to a clean house! It’s totally dual purpose as it entertains kids, babies and animals for hours if you do turn it on while you’re home. Winning!
2. Stay connected via an Apple Watch even without your phone!
This is a great tool for busy moms who might be in meetings or without her phone in front of her at all times during the day. You can read and respond to text messages, take phone calls, pay for things, monitor your fitness and health, stream music, and more. It’s pretty much a mom’s dream come true. Another way to be hands free? Yes please! PS: this makes a great gift for busy moms.
3. Be home even when you’re not.
Home security is super easy with Ring. Know who is coming and going instantly by using their Video Doorbell and Ring app. You can also create a smart lighting system so that you can turn lights on and off when you’re away! Honestly, when you’re a super busy mom, it’s the little things that count. Forgot to turn on the porch light? No problem with Ring!
4. If you want a more connected home, try an Amazon Echo or smart home device.
Most moms these days need as much help as they can get. The Amazon Echo is your personal assistant at home. Play music, ask questions, ask the weather, set alarms, read the news, and more. You can also connect your Echo to other compatible devices. It’s kind of like customer service for your home and life. Genius!

5. Don’t forget about Fido!
Why stop at Ring or Echo? Did you know you can also feed your animals from your phone too? Consider looking into a Wi-Fi enabled pet feeder. This way you can feed your fur babies with the touch of a button straight from your smartphone. We found this one by PetSafe. This is also a great tool when you’re going out of town and can’t find someone to feed at every meal time.
6. Busy moms can be salon ready faster!
We know that even for the modern working mama, “work out chic” is an acceptable way to dress these days. That being said, on the days that you do need to actually get ready (aka you have to do your hair instead of default to the mom bun—no offense to the mom bun, we are here for it!), we recommend using the Revlon One Step Hair Dryer and Brush. This is a way to save time for sure. No need to mess with a round brush and blow dryer at the same time. This amazing tool will have your hair salon ready in minutes. We are not joking…seriously, check it out!
7. Need to catch up on a few work things over the weekend or at night with the kids? Tune into ABCMouse.
This one isn’t a gadget but it sure is a helpful piece of technology. If you need just a few minutes to do the laundry or make a work call, throw on ABCMouse. They have educational content for ages 2 through 13. You don’t have to feel guilty about the screen time either. We promise they will actually learn something new!
8. Grocery store trips are a thing of the past!
This is by far one of our most favorite time savers for busy moms. Grocery delivery services have surged in popularity lately but they have always been a go to for busy moms. Order online via an app or website and opt for delivery or curbside pick up. Not only are you saving time but you’re probably saving money too because you won’t be making impulse purchases in the store. Double win.
Here’s a list of some of our favorite grocery delivery platforms:
- Instacart
- Shipt
- Thrive Market
- Amazon Fresh
- BabyQuip (Yes! BabyQuip Quality Providers can go grocery shopping for you while you’re at home or on vacation.)
Don’t bother shopping or planning! When you subscribe to a meal delivery service, all of the ingredients come to your doorstep and all you have to do is put them together. So for the mama who loves to cook but hates all the prep work, this is a great option! Poor yourself a glass of wine or sparkling water, follow the cooking instructions, and end up with a delicious meal.
BONUS: you’ll learn a new recipe while you’re at it and eat some amazing home cooked (without the planning) food! Typically, you can determine preferences and settings that include how many servings, allergies, ingredients you do or don’t like, etc. This can also be a great family activity—get the kiddos to join in on the cooking! There are lots of meal kit delivery options on the market so you may want to test a few out. Here’s a great article that gives an overview of all your options. Happy cooking!
Thank goodness for technology and thank goodness for all the busy moms out there killing it every day. We hope this list helps you stress less and enjoy more!
