Enjoy taking a dip in one of the property’s 3 heated pools! There is a children’s pool that is 3 1/2 feet deep around the edges and 4 1/2 feet deep in the center. Perfect for the kiddos! There is also a family pool and hot tub as well as an adults only pool and hot tub. The hotel also features poolside activities such as an oversized Connect Four game, chess, as well as Ping Pong. There are also beach chairs, towels, beach toys and boogie boards available for your enjoyment! Silver Strand State Beach has beaches on both the Pacific Ocean as well as San Diego Bay, however, the water in the Bay is generally warmer and more calm which is perfect for families. Consider taking a 30 minute narrated tour of the zoo on a double decker bus which will give families a great overview of the whole zoo.
4. SeaWorld San Diego
SeaWorld SanDiego is another unbeatable family activity that will please all age levels. There are rides, shows, performances, animal encounters and more! The Dolphin Days performance features Bottlenose Dolphins dipping down and then flying high above the water. The Dolphin Encounter allows you to get up close and personal and meet, feed and learn to communicate with the dolphins led by a trainer.
5. Living Coast Discovery Center
Guests of Loews will have access to some exclusive experiences at The Living Coast Discovery Center due to the hotel’s partnership with the Discovery Center. Exclusive opportunities include discounted admission, access to the Go Wild! Oh we just love this place. It was where we stayed 40 years ago on my first trip to the West and we still stay there! You know they say it’s haunted?
I wish I would have known about this hotel sooner. We have an upcoming trip to San Diego but everything is alreayd booked.. I’ll have to check out the nearby experiences.

The bike rentals are great for the whole family. The island is pretty much flat so it’s easy to get around.
